Diana Vreeland photographed by Jack Robinson in her office at Conde Nast, March 28, 1968. Vreeland had asked that Jack take her portrait for an article that would appear in the the New York Post Weekend Magazine titled, “She Gives Pizzaz to the Beautiful People”. The article describes her office as “slick magazine Oriental” with chinese red walls. “It’s so damned dark in there, you have to feel your way around following her voice.” “She has pictures all over her pinboards, things she likes torn from magazines. Some are over twenty years old.” Vreeland was editor-in-chief at Vogue from 1963 to 1971, and previously fashion editor at Harper’s Bazaar from 1936 to 1962.
