Suzy Parker with Great Danes

The red-headed Suzy Parker, the highest paid and most famous American model in the fifties, was the fourth of four daughters from San Antonio, Texas. Her older sister Dorian Leigh was a very successful model herself and was instrumental in getting the fifteen year old Suzy hired by Eileen Ford at Ford Models. 'She was the most beautiful creature you can imagine,'' Ms. Ford said of Suzy. ''She was everybody's everything.'' Parker’s face made its first appearance in Life magazine that year. Jack Robinson photographed Parker on many occasions throughout the fifties while she was working for Ford models in New York. Shown here with two Great Danes, undated but believed to have been taken in 1958.
