Jimmy Webb was one of the most successful songwriters in the mid to late 1960’s, and followed that success with a series of critically acclaimed singer-songwriter albums of his own. Jack photographed the twenty-one-year-old Webb on April 24, 1968. Just two months earlier, at the 1968 Grammy Awards, two songs written by Webb and sung by two different artists had collected eight awards, “Up, Up and Away” and “By the Time I Get to Phoenix”.
