Product Description
Studio portrait of Turkish-born film archivist Henri Langlois from January, 1969. Langlois was co-founder and director of the Cinmatheque Franuaise and has been credited with being personally responsible for saving thousands of films, as he called it himself “just a St. Bernard dog rescuing films.” His dismissal from his position at the museum in 1968 was part of the impetus for the 1968 riots and upheaval in Paris. He was ultimately restored to his position.
