Jack Robinson’s photograph of the hugely popular singing and guitar duo, the Everly Brothers—Don, born in Kentucky and Phil, born in Chicago—was taken in late 1957 as Jack Robinson traveled to Nashville to photograph the Everlys for their first album, released on Cadence records. Those first Cadence records, often featuring family friend Chet Atkins, playing guitar, arranging, and producing, included such classic hits as "Bye Bye Love," "Wake Up Little Susie," "All I Have to Do Is Dream," "('Til) I Kissed You," and "When Will I Be Loved." In 1986, The Everly Brothers were among the first ten artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Here they are photographed on motorcycles outside the studio for what would be the cover of their first album.
