Artist Statement Jack Robinson

Jack Robinson died on December 15, 1997. He was a very private person and shared his views on life and art with very few people. I was fortunate to have known him well and had many conversations about art and photography with him. Though he withheld the true genius of his photographic work he was very open with the passion of his second career as a stained glass designer. Jack would have told you that composition was everything in his art followed by a close second, contrast. His choice of shapes and contrast was extremely refined in his watercolor stained glass designs and is reflected in his photography to an extreme. I think it was his training in photography that gave him such a talented eye for composition in his grand stained glass designs.
